But where did this tradition come from? To welcome the new millennium, we decided that our marvellous castle had to become the star of a fireworks show so beautiful and spectacular that it would take your breath away! Since that unforgettable night between 31 December 1999 and 1 January 2000, New Year's Eve in Ferrara has become an unmissable event. So much so, in fact, that it has become a classic of the national New Year's Eve news and Vanity Fair has included it among the best open-air New Year's Eve parties in the world.
