1000 Miglia - an historical race
Every June, Ferrara welcomes the 1000 Miglia, the famous historic motoring event that crosses Italy from Brescia to Rome and back. It is a chance to see classic cars, roaring engines and beautifully preserved period details right in the heart of the city, while experiencing the atmosphere of one of Italy’s best-known motoring events.
First held in 1927 as a road race and run in its original form until 1957, the 1000 Miglia returned in 1977 as a historic re-enactment and regularity race for cars linked to the original event. Parts of the route change from year to year, but the traditional Brescia–Rome–Brescia journey remains at its core.
