Protecting, preserving and enhancing the cultural heritage, opening it up to the public and inviting all Italians to get to know and visit it: this is the mission of the FAI. Two days to discover the less visible monuments of the cities. In 2024 FAI days are scheduled on 23rd and 24th of March.

FAI Days

Since 1993, the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI) has organized the Spring Days, which in a very short time has become the most important public square event dedicated to Italy's cultural heritage and landscape. Volunteers from the FAI Delegations and Groups active in all regions of our beautiful country strive each year to help the general public discover beautiful places that are usually inaccessible or unknown.
From 1993 to 2022, more than 14,090 places of history, art and nature have been made accessible and hosted more than 11 million visitors. These numbers alone give you an idea of how cultural heritage plays a fundamental role in defining the identity of our country, showcasing its history and reinforcing its values. Cultural heritage with all its assets, from monuments to historic buildings, through individual works of art and landscapes, keeps track of our past and present for future generations.

FAI's mission is to protect, preserve and enhance our cultural heritage by opening it to the public and inviting everyone to visit and learn about it.
The FAI Days of Spring are held every year in mid-March when the first warmth of spring entices people outside. When hearts are awakened and nature is blooming in its full glory, the FAI Days of Spring allow you to spend two days discovering our beautiful Italy.

Over the years, the Ferrara delegation has opened wonderful places such as Palazzo Giulio d'Este, the seat of the Prefecture; Palazzo Scola-Camerini, the seat of the Police Headquarters; Palazzo Costabili, the seat of the National Archaeological Museum with a very special and exclusive guide; the Ducal Palace of Ferrara; the Corpus Domini Monastery; Palazzo Naselli-Crispi, the seat of the Ferrara Plain Reclamation; and Palazzo Gulinelli, a splendid historical building in the heart of Corso Ercole I d'Este! And it doesn’t end there, every year volunteers strive to unearth new unforgettable places for you!
