Nino Migliori. Una ricerca senza fine
February 17 - June 3, 2024 - Ferrara, Castello Estense

Curated by Denis Curti, the exhibition retraces the "never-ending quest" undertaken by the Bolognese photographer from 1948 to the present day. It spans from neorealistic shots capturing the essence of Italy in the 1950s to the series on Walls and Torn Posters, where Migliori demonstrates an affinity with European informal painting. The exhibition further explores conceptual experiments, investigating overlooked or unexpected aspects of photographic language, such as material reactions, the conscious role of chance, the influence of time, and the physical and gestural presence of the artist. It also includes works highlighting a specific interest in visual communication as a whole.

Over 100 works are on display to acquaint audiences with Nino Migliori through his photography—an output rich in values and content related to art, experimentation, and play.

Mirabilia Estensi
23 marzo - 21 luglio 2024 - Ferrara, Palazzo dei Diamanti

In North-Central Italy between the 14th and 15th centuries, objects made of bone, horn, and inlaid wood, including pastiglia decorated caskets, became widespread as emblems of the Renaissance craftsmanship in Ferrara under Borso d'Este. These artifacts, often created to celebrate wedding unions, were crafted using sophisticated techniques and involved masters like Cosmè Tura. Characterized by "pastiglia" decorations, a mixture of plaster, glue, and marble powder, these caskets contained precious items and symbolized the passion for antiquity that animated the courts of the time. Becoming part of the Wunderkammer, collections aimed at amazing with a variety of rare objects, these caskets reflected the Renaissance's broad interest in arts, sciences, and collecting, attempting to encapsulate the world in a single room.
