On the thread of memories': Martina Buiat's embroidered photos on show

Titled 'On the Thread of Memories', the exhibition of Martina Buiat's works will be inaugurated on Saturday 5 November 2022 at 11.30 a.m. at the Bassani municipal library in via Grosoli 42 (Barco area, Ferrara). On display are "old black and white photos, postcards from faraway places and times, enriched with silk and cotton embroidery and brought back to life to tell us their stories".

The initiative is part of the Bassani Library's exhibition cycle 'PICTA, Illustration on show'.

The exhibition will be open, with free admission, until 19 November, during library opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday also from 3 to 6.30 p.m.

On Saturday 19 November 2022 at 11 a.m., on the occasion of the closure of the exhibition, Martina Buiat will offer a paper embroidery workshop for participants aged 12 to 99 (for registration: 0532797414-477 - info.bassani@comune.fe.it).

Born in Trieste, but in Ferrara for many years, artist Martina Buiat is a physicist and museum educator. She started embroidering old photos and postcards during the lockdown, and what was a way to pass the time has turned into a passion that has led to exhibitions and workshops for young and old.
