Oliver Stone in Ferrara: meetings and film retrospective

From 6 to 18 October 2026, Ferrara will host a major retrospective dedicated to Oliver Stone, one of the most influential directors and screenwriters in contemporary cinema.

Stone will be in the city from 6 to 11 October for public meetings, events with students and film enthusiasts, and institutional appointments. During his stay in Ferrara, he will receive Honorary Citizenship from the Municipality of Ferrara and an Honorary Master’s Degree from the University of Ferrara.

At the heart of the event is a film retrospective featuring 23 screenings and events from 6 to 18 October, with a selection of films, documentaries and television works spanning more than forty years of Oliver Stone’s career. Screenings will be in the original language with Italian subtitles and, unless otherwise stated, will take place at Sala Estense.
