Every year the 'Claudio Abbado' Municipal Theatre of Ferrara offers an extremely rich calendar of events divided in prose, opera and ballet, concerts and contemporary dance! Here we are with the third part of the programming that runs from January to March 2023, would you like to discover it?

PROSE

There are a total of 18 titles on the bill from October until May 2023, including great classics, international authors and new dramas.

In April the season continues with Europeana. Breve storia del XX secolo by Patrik Ourednik with Lino Guanciale from 28 to 30 April.

After the success of Fare un'anima, Giacomo Poretti returns to the theatre with a monologue that draws on his personal experience, to smile at his memories of the ward and attempt to answer, together with the audience, the age-old question "E adesso chi lo svuota il par parrot?"

Marco Paolini imagines a new album to rethink the pact between theatre and spectators, in the show conceived in 2021, another year of suspension of artistic activities after the 2020 lockdown.

Moving on to Opera and Ballet, the season continues with Giuseppe Verdi's unmissable opera Il Rigoletto.

Melodrama in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi to a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave from the drama Le roi s'amuse by Victor Hugo.
The story is set in 16th-century Mantua. Rigoletto, a hunchbacked court jester, has a daughter, Gilda, whose existence he tries to keep secret from the courtiers, many of whom intend to take revenge on him for his vicious mockery.

Rigoretto opera teatrale a Ferrara

The World's Foremost All-Male Comic Ballet Company.

TROCKS are back! The world's most irreverent and irreverent male dance company is back.

The art critic returns to lead a journey of discovery through the masterpieces of sacred art, while the City of Ferrara Baroque Orchestra, Konzertmeister Antonio Aiello, and the Accademia dello Spirito Santo choir (choirmaster Francesco Pinamonti), will follow Sgarbi's path through the music of Antonio Vivaldi.

The libretto, by Donizetti himself, is taken from a vaudeville performed in Paris only a few months earlier and bears witness to the legendary speed of the composer, who wrote the opera in eight days to meet the demands of impresario Filippo Pellegrino.

Lazarus, the rock opera by David Bowie and Enda Walsh in the Italian version by Valter Malosti, comes to Ferrara. In the role of the interstellar migrant Newton, an unusual Manuel Agnelli, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and historic frontman of Afterhours.
