The second edition of the Comfort Festival by Claudio Trotta's Slow Music and Barley Arts has been presented: there will still be 2 stages in operation on 2 July 2023, from 3 p.m., immersed in the greenery of the Parco Urbano G.Bassani.

Comfort Festival - 2nd edition coming soon

After the first edition in 2021, the virtuous philosophy of a festival that has made care, hospitality and sustainability its flagship returns to Ferrara. The name of the secondary stage - which in reality has very little to do with 'secondary', given the international names that will be gracing it - bears witness to this: A.R.M.O.N.I.A. the acronym that stands for environment, resources, music, opportunity, nature, identity and art. Comfort the name of the main stage, and of course of the festival as a whole, to emphasise once again the central factor behind the initiative, the quest for comfort in all its forms. 'We follow an opposite logic to the one that characterises live entertainment today - the words of the host of this magnificent shared experience, Claudio Trotta -: contained numbers, to improve the enjoyment of music, variety, quality and care. After more than 130 festivals organised, our mission is still to guarantee and respect the well-being of people, of those I call my customers'.

Comfort Festival - performers 2023

The Comfort stage will witness the return to Italy of US folk singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, headliner of the festival, with his soft, unmistakable voice. Always committed to environmental protection and sustainability issues, Johnson reflects on the most precious commodity, life, in his latest introspective work entitled Meet The Moonlight. A complex and fragile world, the one described by the Hawaiian artist with his usual engaging poetics. This year the festival will take place in the picturesque setting of Piazza Trento e Trieste.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats on stage to anticipate him: for the first time in Italy, the band presents its contemporary rock'n'roll in Ferrara, bringing The Future, its third album, to the stage. For Rateliff, too, the pandemic represented a complicated watershed, confronting him with the most common question: what now? A question he was able to answer by mixing reflection, art, a particular passion for hymns, his soul and rock soul. You will be surprised by his answer.

Comfort Festival 2022 2

The talent of Glen Hansard, who has even won an Oscar, returns to Ferrara. The internationally renowned Irish singer-songwriter, who boasts a list of illustrious collaborations, is now working on an album due out in 2023 after the single Take Heart about the war in Ukraine, recorded and released for charity. Strong emotions are guaranteed.

Opening the sound journey on the main stage, in its surprising and heralded variety, is the vibrant hard rock of Australia's Wolfmother: that's 'starting off on the right foot'!

But also A.R.M.O.N.I.A. the second stage promises enchantment: starting with Kurt Vile and the Violators, a plunge into contemporary folk rock. It will be anticipated by the magnificent Mary Gauthier, so far removed from definitions and labels, with a complicated and surprising life, and a wealth of emotions and experience: a sweet scratching magic that has also received praise from Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, among others. Ocie Elliot, a Canadian duo of perfectly interwoven guitars and voices, will also surprise. And again the indie rock of the militant LGBT quartet Pillow Queens, and the blues of Sardinian guitarist Francesco Piu.

All tastes will be catered for, all needs met by the welcoming atmosphere of the now traditional festival.

Tickets are already available on Ticketone and Ticketmaster, but as patron Trotta rightly says, the festival is the best excuse to experience the city: stay tuned to the Inferrara channels because some experiential package is boiling in the pot!
