Vulandra: the international kite festival

In Ferrara, on April 23rd, we celebrate St George, the city's patron saint. But there is also another tradition that we really love, taking place around the 23rd and 25th of April: Vulandra international kite festival. An occasion that brings crowds of fans and tourists in the wonderful oasis of Parco Urbano Giorgio Bassani.  

One festival, one word: passion. A pure passion for the world of kite flying, whether considered as a sport or as entertainment, profession or amusement, but also just a simple moment of fun in the open air.

From more than 30 years, Vulandra welcomes kite flyers from all over Italy and the world. You will meet enthusiasts from Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Cambodia, and many other nations. People from all over the world, happy to share with you the secrets of perfect flying and, why not, to explain how they created these spectacular works of engineering. 

A true moment of open-air festivity, enriched by side initiatives such as photo exhibitions, food stands, space for volunteering associations, children playgrounds and much more. 

A truly unique opportunity to spend an open air day with friends and family, admiring a sky full of unique shapes and colours!
